Overview
The post is locum based at the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center, Lahore. Pakistan.
The Department of Anaesthetics provides expertise in the day to day management of patients with cancer and works closely with other specialties towards a common goal of improving the outcome of cancer treatment for patients at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre. The consultant is expected to provide anaesthetic service to various sub-specialties of surgical oncology including GI, Maxillofacial, Breast, Urology, Thoracic, Orthopedics and Neurosurgery and liaise closely with the Surgeons and Physicians in other specialties and staff within the hospital. Apart from surgical and paediatric oncology cases in OR, anaesthetic services will be provided to the specialties including Radiology, Radiation, Endoscopy and Nuclear Medicine. Clinical work may include evening sessions and weekends, apart from the on call commitment. Consultant is expected to teach, supervise and take part in the department activities including audits and quality improvement measures.
Eligibility Criteria:
- FRCA / Diplomate of the American Board in Anaesthetics / FCPS or equivalent.
- Full PMDC Registration.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and patients.
- Good computer skills.
- Willing and able to take on increasing responsibility with time.
